The irresistible Handloom saree, that drapes like a dream
Indian textiles are rich in artifacts, Begampur is a small town in Hooghly district in West Bengal, the sarees woven here carries deep and bright colours. The economy of this place depends on textiles and also famous for dhotis. What reminds everyone when you say Bengal is handwoven cotton sarees and is the center for fine cotton weaving and these Begampuri cotton sarees are known for loosely woven light-weight and translucent and are extremely comfortable to drape. These cotton beauties would take one to two days to weave which are very simple ones and more intricate designs could even take five to six days to complete, although the saree fabric named after the city, the subtle madness look after wearing them is absolutely sophisticated.

One of my vintage collection from Tamil Nadu is Kanchipuram Double Border Saree, it is a Beige color as you can see in the portrait and do check out for an overall look of the saree in my video of as well. It has that charm of subtle look yet gives that opulence. In a nutshell, I can say it's the best match for your temple wedding( muhurtham silk saree) gives that complete finish of that traditional look and feel with antique temple jewelry. This is my one of my wedding saree as well which I had shopped for which has a 'Double Border' the first border is bottle green in color with thread work and the second border is a blend of Zari( Gold, deep maroon and bottle green) as well. This saree credit goes to my dad since he selected this wonderful piece of art. When I go deep about this saree, the base of the saree has the emboss stamp a design(beige color) with leaf and other elements as well and when it comes to the pallu area it has Swan's bird motifs.

The most down to earth yet vibrant colors are seen in traditional attire of Ilkal, Ilkal is a small town, this town is located in the South-East part of Bagalkote district, Karnataka state, India. This place is very hot during the summers but has a pleasant weather during the winters. The language of communication here is Kannada. Ilkal was an ancient weaving centre and known for renowned handloom sarees. The main source of income comes from the 'Red granite' which is exported all around the world, while Ilkal sarees are secondary source of income for the people residing over there since generations. The availability of local raw materials helped in the growth of this saree.

Summer is nearing, how about floating in air with breathtaking saree, looking for what to wear, here is the beautiful handwoven 'Kota Doria' are the best for the reason, when I wore Kota saree, It feels like, I'm floating, transparent, featherweight, soft, airy, light textured, such a beauty it is, these cosy sarees are very fine weaves and weigh very less and comfort, these gorgeous sarees are handwoven on 'traditional pit looms' and drape gracefully. This village called 'Kaithoon' twenty kms from Kota city, the weavers are located in Kota district of South east 'Rajasthan'. Kota Sarees are primarily made in Kota, Rajasthan, Mau, Uttar Pradesh as well.

What reminds everyone when I says Bengali is mouth watering and luscious dessert 'Rasgulla' and 'Mishti doi' to name the most popular ones in the list and of course Bengali cotton sarees. The medium of communication here is Bengali. The traditional attire of Bengali women is simple forms of these Tant sarees takes around two days to weave and more intricate designs could even take five to six days to complete a saree. Generally Tant saree comes in pastel shades with beautiful thick borders.

Handloom sarees are one of the most classic ones and will never go out of fashion no matter what new sarees comes in trend. Tassels are the finishing feature on fabric or any other clothing decoration! My wedding bells was around the corner, I was all alone to decide things, I made a checklist and I started one by one, ticking which was done and making a note which has to get complete, finally it was the turn of Tassels, so I decided based on the saree and blouse(Upper garment) to add a mix and match of silk threads and some additional ornamentation with some beads as well, but my designer was well talented and she knew what I wanted exactly and finished the work on time!

Silk is one of the oldest fabrics in India, it was only used in royal garments these days everyone are able to afford it, because of its cost-effectiveness and contemporary look. Printed silk refers to a length of silk yarn or a silk fabric, which consists of patterns and designs in the form of prints on them. Printed silk initially showcased a number of unusual motifs such as geometric prints, splash of color and lately introduced in fine art in India. The motifs and prints of printed silk is being influenced from Bollywood, pop-culture and creative modern art. You can see prints on silks that have diversified over the years and modern sarees and other ethnic Indian garments that are created specifically to cater to younger. What I noticed in printed silk is it is flawless, more versatile, lightweight, contemporary and a statement attire.

Beyond fashion edge sober linen saree, Sarees are my passion
It’s all about comfort and drape end of the day all want isn't that right? So here you go, linens and cottons are my most loved fabrics, it drapes magically graceful and yes red carpet statement attire for this season are stunning linens, don't be surprised when celebrities pop-up for special events and promotions with gorgeous linen sarees, its a spotlight attention seeking ones and these fabrics blends well with silk, cotton or even khadi and not a age factor to classify them as which age group it suits, it is one of the versatile fabric that can be appreciated by all.

One of the challenging factor when it comes to luxury market is getting the right people on board and targeting specifically for them is a niche. So much of ultra-refined, handcrafted series is required. But the fact is not always all are suited for this. Understanding them takes time and they hate wholesale market stuff. They value their time and they don't waste others time as well. Behind their thought process vintage, classic, collectible is just investments and which might in some times if they need to sell which fetch them back what they have invested!

At some point of time waking up in the morning and going to a job is not feasible as grow older right? How many of you think like that, the hierarchy in office which makes crazy, although we work hard like anyone else we don't get recognition nor promotions, this is a common pool that majority of them are facing today, some they share and some they don't share, basically after all this ups and downs in life once they cross thirty years or after they realize that 'I NEED BE MY BOSS' this is the peak time to start something which is fresh, so many follow their passion which they are good at. Passion is something which will not fetch any money to be frank, one needs to work towards it to make a profitable business.

This summer, pleasant morning with earthy cottons
Aroma of freshly brewed coffee at home is an inspiration for me in the morning, twenty nine years back, I recalled, my dad saying I bought this 'Wet grinder' from business trip on a way, to my mother and now I'm gone grey, recollecting the past hailing from business backdrop, traveling passionates me and my dad! Generally considered as traditional city, very fine cotton mills are here, well a typical saree made in Coimbatore region is called as 'Kovai Cora cotton' or 'Kovai Kora cotton' sarees. Due to extreme summers and humid climatic here, always one cannot think of wearing heavy silk or just cottons, this led to innovation of 'Coimbatore sico sarees' here. Seamless saree are a best choice of fashion garment, no matter what occasion you are in.

Khadi is also known as khaddar, it is Handwoven natural fiber cloth, this cloth is usually woven from cotton and may also include wool, silk, which are all spun into yarn on a spinning wheel called charkha. This fine spun khadi is known for softness, when one starts to wear this saree definitely will be hooked on this fabric, no matter its summer or spring, Khadi is not only used as fashion statement these days but are often seen as markers of particular communities, groups and towns.

Karaikudi is known as the capital of Chettinad, Chettinad in southern Tamil Nadu is a region of the Sivaganga district that is known for weaving the Chettinad sarees. The people here are very friendly and invite people with a warm smile, the language of communication here is Tamil. Chettinad is the home of the Nattukottai Chettiars(Nagarathar), this community faithfully follow traditions. The major communities involved in weaving Chettinad cotton sarees are Devanga Chettiyars, who are the skilled weavers from ancient days.
